Helping break down the taboo.
Nationwide there are approximately 400,000 women of menopausal age employed within our workplaces, and yet few have a menopause policy.
A NZ survey of over 4000 women in 2022, outlined the impact of menopause in the workplace. 84% of women stated that their menopause symptoms had negatively impacted their work. One in six women reporting having had thoughts about quitting their jobs and sadly 12% did. Only 14% of women felt well supported within their workplaces.
In 2023, the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists studied the impact of menopause on their female doctors. 80% of female anaesthetists reported having symptoms that affected their physical and mental health. 65% said menopause affected their ability to work with 24% reporting experiencing a significant impact. 36% said they had either made their own changes to the way they work or would like to. This study also highlighted that some anaesthetists were having to make the difficult decision to transition away from leadership roles because of the effect of their menopause symptoms.
The results from these two NZ studies echo other worldwide study findings which consistently show the negative impact that menopause has within workplaces. We work with organisations to break down the taboo associated with menopause and explore how they can create a supportive menopause culture.
Creating a positive work environment
Menopause presents employers with significant staff well-being, financial and employee retention implications. We work with organisations to develop a supportive and open menopause culture that enhances staff well-being, attendance at work and supports staff retention.
We offer a range of seminars and workshops to raise awareness and educate staff about menopause and how it relates to the workplace. We also support organisations to create strategies and policies which underpin the development of a supportive menopause workforce culture. We know that every organisation is different and will have individual requirements and as such our seminars and workshops can be customised to suit the needs of your organisation.

Transform the health and wellbeing of your organisation.
